Thierno Seydi, the agent of Al-Shabab striker Habib Diallo, has revealed to why his client has decided to join the Saudi Professional League club last summer.
“When someone entrusts you with their career, they are simply entrusting you with their life. Last year, who didn’t want to go to Saudi Arabia? When you go to a championship where there is Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mané and Neymar, but wait…I know how much Habib earned in Strasbourg and he was in his 26th year. He finished third top scorer in the French top flight and an offer arrived from Saudi Arabia. Even if Habib refused, I was going to force his hand. At 26, he is African champion and has played in two AFCON’s. In four, five years it will be over. So this transfer to Saudi Arabia allows him to see it coming. I know some players from the 2002 generation who had financial strength during their career and who now ask me for services. It’s sad and I don’t want Habib to go through the same thing.” he said (via Wiwsport).
